Rising star Jerry Afriyie has been included in Ghana’s squad for the 2026 World Cup qualifiers against Chad and Madagascar.
The 18-year-old forward, who scored on his Black Stars debut against Niger, has quickly risen through the ranks.
After moving from Ghana’s lower leagues to Saudi club Al-Qadsiah FC, he was loaned to Spain’s CD Lugo, where he recently netted a brace.
Afriyie’s inclusion adds a fresh attacking option as Ghana looks to recover from missing AFCON 2025.
The Black Stars face Chad on March 21 in Accra before traveling to Morocco for a March 24 clash with Madagascar. With his current form, Afriyie is expected to play a key role in Ghana’s World Cup qualification push.
