Tariq Lamptey, a talented right-back, is out for Brighton's final home game.
He suffered a new knee injury that raises doubts about his future.
The Ghana international missed the match against Liverpool on May 19. This was Brighton's last home match of the season.
Lamptey played in the 2-0 win at Wolves but had to be substituted due to injury.
Simon Adingra replaced him, and Brajan Gruda also came in for Matt O’Riley.
Lamptey had just recovered from a foot injury before this setback. He is out of contract this summer, and there has been little talk of a new deal.
Last January, he was linked with a move to Ajax. This season, he has been behind Joel Veltman in the lineup.
Injuries have hindered his time at Brighton. Premier League rivals Everton are also interested in Lamptey. He may have played his last game at the Amex Stadium.
