Tariq Lamptey set to be a free agent as Brighton contract nears expiration

Ghana international Tariq Lamptey will become a free agent on June 30, 2025. His contract with Brighton and Hove Albion will expire then.

The 24-year-old defender joined Brighton from Chelsea in 2020. He became a key player under former manager Roberto De Zerbi.

Currently, there are no talks about renewing his contract. Lamptey is expected to leave the Seagulls after five years. He is sidelined with a knee injury and will miss Brighton's final match against Tottenham Hotspur.

Lamptey suffered the injury in the previous game against Wolves. This will be his second consecutive missed match.

This season, he made 15 Premier League appearances, scoring two goals and providing two assists. In all competitions, he played 20 matches and contributed five goals for Brighton.

Until he signs a new deal, Lamptey must find a new club next month.
