Andy Murray will no longer coach Novak Djokovic. This decision was made by mutual agreement. Murray will not be with Djokovic at Wimbledon in July.
Djokovic, a 24-time Grand Slam champion, started working with Murray in November. Under Murray's guidance, Djokovic reached the Australian Open semi-finals. He retired injured after losing the first set.
This season has been tough for Djokovic. He lost his first match in four of his last five tournaments. He also lost to 19-year-old Jakub Mensik in the Miami Open final.
Djokovic thanked Murray for their time together. "I really enjoyed deepening our friendship," he said.
Murray expressed gratitude as well, saying, "Thanks to Novak for this opportunity." He wished Djokovic all the best for the rest of the season.
Despite a promising start in Melbourne, their partnership lasted only four tournaments. Djokovic has taken a wildcard into next week's Geneva Open. So far, he has not won a match on clay this year.
