SC Freiburg coach Julian Schuster has provided an update on Ghanaian midfielder Daniel-Kofi Kyereh, confirming there is no set timeline for his return after nearly two years out due to a cruciate ligament injury.
Kyereh, who joined Freiburg in June 2022 and quickly impressed with a Bundesliga goal against Mainz, has been sidelined since the injury. Schuster emphasized the need for patience, noting that recovery is a gradual process that varies by individual.
The 29-year-old’s absence has been felt by both club and country, as he missed the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) in Ivory Coast.
Freiburg remains focused on ensuring Kyereh fully regains fitness before returning to action, with the player showing positive signs of progress in his rehabilitation.
