Speaker of Parliament Alban Bagbin has announced the National Vultures Award. This initiative aims to expose and shame corrupt officials in Ghana.
Before Parliament was adjourned indefinitely, Speaker Bagbin spoke about integrity. He stressed its importance in governance and society.
He also outlined plans for a National Integrity Award. This award will recognize individuals with exceptional ethical conduct and transparency. The initiative will hold accountable those who fail to meet these standards.
Bagbin said, "We aim to inspire a national movement for integrity." He wants integrity to be expected, desired, and rewarded.
The National Integrity Award will honor men and women of integrity. In contrast, the Vulture Award will target those with low integrity levels.
Describing the program as "transformative," Bagbin emphasized accountability. He believes it is key to fostering transparency and good governance in Ghana.
