There will be new faces in yet-to-be constituted Black Stars technical team - Henry Asante Twum

Henry Asante Twum, Communications Director of the Ghana Football Association (GFA), confirmed that changes will be made to the Black Stars' technical team ahead of the 2026 World Cup qualifiers, which resume in March.

While reports suggest assistant coaches John Paintsil and Joseph Laumann could be let go, Asante Twum did not confirm specific names.

He mentioned that the topic was thoroughly discussed at the last Executive Council meeting, with the performance of the backroom staff being analyzed.

A decision to implement changes was made, but details on which individuals will leave are still pending.

The team’s poor performance in the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers, where they failed to qualify, contributed to the decision for restructuring.
