Former Tottenham Hotspur head coach Tim Sherwood has criticized Thomas Partey for Arsenal's dropped points in their 2-2 draw against Aston Villa.
Partey, who was deployed as a right-back due to injuries, was blamed for his poor defending, particularly when Ollie Watkins capitalized on his mistake to score Villa's equalizer.
Despite goals from Gabriel Martinelli and Kai Havertz putting Arsenal ahead, Villa's Youri Tielemans pulled one back before the crucial error by Partey.
Sherwood acknowledged Partey’s mistake but noted that right-back is not his natural position.
The draw left Arsenal six points behind Premier League leaders Liverpool. Mikel Arteta’s side will look to bounce back in their upcoming Champions League and Premier League fixtures.
