Ghanaian midfielder Thomas Partey featured for Arsenal in their EFL Cup semi-final second leg against Newcastle United but could not inspire a comeback.

Starting in midfield, Partey and his teammates struggled, leading to a disappointing 2-0 defeat at St. James’ Park.

Jacob Murphy opened the scoring in the 19th minute after Alexander Isak's goal was disallowed.

Anthony Gordon doubled Newcastle’s lead in the 52nd minute following a defensive error by goalkeeper David Raya.

Arsenal failed to mount a response, resulting in a 4-0 aggregate loss. The defeat ends Arsenal’s EFL Cup hopes while Newcastle advances to the final.
