Arsenal legend Ian Wright has criticized Mikel Arteta's decision to deploy Thomas Partey as a right-back, a position the Ghanaian midfielder has been forced to play due to injuries.
Partey struggled during Arsenal's 2-2 draw against Aston Villa, particularly when his defensive lapse allowed Ollie Watkins to score Villa's equalizer.
Wright, speaking on Premier League Productions, insisted Partey should remain in midfield, his natural position.
Arsenal had taken a 2-0 lead through Gabriel Martinelli and Kai Havertz, but Villa fought back with goals from Youri Tielemans and Watkins.
The draw leaves Arsenal six points behind Premier League leaders Liverpool, who have a game in hand. The Gunners will look to bounce back in the Champions League against Dinamo Zagreb before facing Wolves in the league.
