Ghana midfielder Thomas Partey will miss the first leg of Arsenal’s UEFA Champions League semifinal.
He received a yellow card in the 85th minute during Arsenal's 2-1 win over Real Madrid. This match was the second leg of the quarterfinals. Arsenal advanced with a 5-1 aggregate score.
In the first leg, Arsenal won 3-0 against Real Madrid. Goals came from Bukayo Saka and Gabriel Martinelli. Partey played well but got booked after a brief altercation with Antonio Rudiger and Dani Ceballos.
Teammate Declan Rice was upset when Partey received the yellow card. Partey has been one of Arsenal’s best players this season.
Due to the yellow card, he will miss the first semifinal match against PSG on April 27 at Emirates Stadium. However, he will be available for the second leg on May 6.
