Tottenham beat Man Utd to win Europa League & end 17-year wait for trophy

Tottenham ended their 17-year trophy drought. Brennan Johnson's first-half goal secured a win over Manchester United in the Europa League final.

This victory fulfills head coach Ange Postecoglou's promise to deliver silverware. He made this promise in his second season at Spurs.

Postecoglou, who vowed he would "never be a clown," brought joy to fans. About 15,000 Tottenham supporters cheered in Bilbao's San Mames Stadium.

Amorim has ownership support but made questionable choices during the match. Picking Mason Mount over Alejandro Garnacho did not pay off. With Bruno Fernandes subdued, United struggled to recover from going behind.

They nearly equalized with a Rasmus Hojlund header, but it was cleared off the line by Micky van de Ven. Later, Vicario made a dramatic save against Luke Shaw’s header to secure the win.
