Tottenham have triggered the option to extend Son Heung-min's contract, keeping him at the club until June 2026.
The South Korean forward, who joined Spurs in 2015 from Bayer Leverkusen, had been linked with a move to Barcelona, but will now stay for his 11th season. Son has scored 169 goals in 431 appearances for Tottenham, ranking fifth on the club's all-time scorer list, and is the Premier League's most prolific Asian player with 125 goals.
Despite a challenging season, with Spurs sitting 12th in the league and Son scoring just five goals, he has contributed six assists and created the second-most chances (33) in the team. He shared the Golden Boot in 2021-22 with Mohamed Salah.
