UCL: Inter Milan edge Bayern Munich in Germany ahead of second leg

Inter Milan secured a late victory against Bayern Munich. This win puts them in a strong position for the Champions League semi-finals. The first leg of their quarter-final tie took place in Munich.

Bayern dominated the first 30 minutes. England captain Harry Kane hit the right post with a shot. However, Inter scored with their first shot on target.

In the 38th minute, Inter made an excellent team move. Marcus Thuram skillfully flicked the ball to Lautaro Martinez. Martinez then fired it into the roof of the net.

Bayern equalized in the 85th minute through Thomas Muller. He scored from close range after Konrad Laimer's low cross. Muller announced last week that he would leave Bayern this summer.

Just two minutes later, Inter struck again. They quickly moved upfield and Carlos Augusto crossed the ball. Substitute Davide Frattesi converted it, giving Inter a crucial advantage.

This defeat ended Bayern's 22-match unbeaten home run in the Champions League since 2021. The second leg will be held at San Siro on April 16. The winners will face either Barcelona or Borussia Dortmund in the semi-finals.

The final will take place at Bayern's Allianz Arena on May 31.
