Kylian Mbappe scored his 50th international goal. France defeated Germany in the Nations League third-place play-off.
Mbappe opened the scoring in the 45th minute. He finished well after a pass from Aurelien Tchouameni.
Later, he assisted Michael Olise for the second goal. This happened six minutes before full-time. Mbappe capitalized on a mistake by Robin Koch.
Germany had opportunities to score as well. They had a penalty overturned by VAR. Karim Adeyemi was initially awarded a spot-kick but was booked for diving instead.
Another German goal was disallowed due to a foul in the build-up. Deniz Undav's effort did not count because of Niclas Fullkrug's foul on Adrien Rabiot.
Adeyemi had three shots saved by Mike Maignan, who is a Chelsea target. Florian Wirtz also struck the post during the match.
France could have scored more goals in Stuttgart. Marcus Thuram hit the post with a curling strike. Mbappe missed several chances and forced a great save from Marc-Andre ter Stegen.
Germany, under Julian Nagelsmann, has now failed to win in three games. This includes their semi-final defeat against Portugal on Wednesday.
