Black Stars Coach Comments on Loss to Nigeria
Ghana's National Men's Football Team lost 2-1 to Nigeria. The match took place at the G-Tech Community Stadium in England. This was part of the 2025 Unity Cup on May 28.
After the game, head coach Otto Addo spoke to the press. He noted that Nigeria had a more "matured" team than Ghana.
Nigeria will advance to the final against Jamaica. Jamaica won their match against Trinidad and Tobago, finishing 3-2.
Addo mentioned that Ghana performed better in the second half. However, he emphasized Nigeria's experience helped them adapt quickly.
He said, “It’s not always easy when players haven’t played together often.” He acknowledged that his team struggled with pressing and defending effectively.
Ghana missed key players like Thomas Partey and Mohammed Kudus for various reasons. Other absentees included Antoine Semenyo, Inaki Williams, and Alexander Djiku.
