In 1982, Ghana's Black Stars won their last Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) title in a tense final against host Libya, ending 1-1 after regular time and 7-6 in penalties.
However, following the victory, Libyan fans, angered by their team's loss, threatened to attack the Black Stars.
As a result, the Ghanaian team was unable to receive their medals and the trophy at the stadium. Black Stars goalkeeper Owusu Mensah recalled that the team had to leave the stadium for safety.
They were later presented with their medals and the trophy at their hotel, a rare occurrence in AFCON history.
