Victor Boniface came off the bench to score the decisive goal in Bayer Leverkusen's 3-2 win over Koln in the DFB Pokal quarter-finals on Wednesday.
After a goalless first half, Koln took the lead through Damion Downs in injury time, followed by Linton Maina’s goal in the 54th minute. Despite dominating possession, Leverkusen struggled to finish their chances.
However, Florian Wirtz, Patrik Schick, and Jeremie Frimpong all missed early opportunities. Schick's goals in the 66th and 90th minutes leveled the score at 2-2, forcing extra time.
In the 98th minute, Boniface netted the winner, securing the victory and his second goal in as many games for Leverkusen.
