Nigeria forward Victor Boniface has reaffirmed his commitment to Bayer Leverkusen despite missing out on a lucrative move to Saudi club Al Nassr.
The club pursued Boniface but ultimately signed Aston Villa’s Jhon Durán for €77 million instead.
Had he moved, Boniface’s salary would have jumped from €2 million to €15 million annually.
However, he insists he remains focused on Leverkusen, stating, “My mind is only on helping the team achieve our goals.”
Boniface, who joined Leverkusen in 2023 for €20 million, recently extended his contract until 2029.
After a stellar first season with 21 goals and 10 assists, injuries have hampered his current campaign, limiting him to 15 appearances and eight goals.
As he recovers from a thigh injury, he aims to return and contribute to Leverkusen’s success.
