Paulo Fonseca confirmed his dismissal from Milan after their 1-1 draw with Roma, stating, "My conscience is clear, I did all that I could."
Despite addressing the media and answering questions about his future, Fonseca was not informed of his firing until after these duties, though it had been widely reported that Sergio Conceicao was set to replace him.
Fonseca had managed 12 wins, 6 draws, and 6 losses across Serie A, the Champions League, and Coppa Italia.
Conceicao is expected to debut as Milan's new coach on January 3, facing Juventus in the Supercoppa Italiana semi-final in Riyadh, with his son, Francisco Conceicao, playing for Juventus.
