Vinicius Junior, Real Madrid's forward, received a two-match ban following his red card for violent conduct during a 2-1 win over Valencia.
Vinicius was dismissed for slapping Valencia goalkeeper Stole Dimitrievski while Madrid trailed 1-0. Despite the usual three-match penalty for violent conduct, manager Carlo Ancelotti hoped for a reduced ban.
After an appeal, the Spanish Football Federation (RFEF) handed him a two-match suspension but allowed him to play in the Supercopa de España in Saudi Arabia. Madrid, currently atop LaLiga with 43 points, aims to retain their Supercopa title, facing Real Mallorca in the semi-finals, with either Barcelona or Athletic Bilbao awaiting the winners.
