Vision FC downplay concerns over AstroTurf effect on player performance

Vision FC’s Communications Director, Prince Tagoe, has rejected claims about the astroturf at Nii Adjei Kraku II Sports Complex. He stated it has not hindered the team’s performance in their debut season.

The newly promoted club chose this Tema-based facility as their home ground for the 2024/25 campaign. So far, Vision FC has had a strong home record. They have achieved seven wins, seven draws, and just one defeat in 15 matches.

The team scored 18 goals and conceded 10, earning 28 points from these games. Despite this success, some fans and analysts worry about playing on astroturf. They cite potential risks to player development and health.

Tagoe dismissed these concerns. He said the pitch conditions have not negatively impacted performance. “There hasn’t been a lot of negative feedback from players,” he noted.

He also mentioned that qualified physios are available to address any issues. The club is committed to ensuring player welfare and providing optimal conditions for success in Ghana’s top flight.
