Former Black Stars captain Abedi Ayew 'Pele' has encouraged the Black Maidens, Ghana's U17 women's team, to dominate the upcoming WAFU B U17 Girls Cup. During a visit to their training session at the GFA Technical Center in Prampram, the three-time African Footballer of the Year commended the team's dedication and urged them to stay disciplined and focused on their football journey.
"I am impressed with how well you are executing your coaches' instructions. Stay focused and disciplined," Abedi Pele advised. He expressed confidence in their potential, adding, "I look forward to seeing the Black Maidens dominate the tournament and win it."
The team has displayed strong form in their preparations, achieving consecutive wins over Rootz Sistaz FC with 5-1 and 2-0 victories. They are set to face FC Epiphany Warriors on December 6 at Prampram.
The Black Maidens are determined to make an impact after overcoming a two-year CAF ban following age-cheating allegations in 2022. Abedi Pele's visit has provided a significant morale boost as they aim to shine in the tournament.
