WAFU B U17 Girls Cup: Ghana complete double over Benin to reach semis

The Black Maidens of Ghana have booked a spot in the semifinals of the 2024 WAFU Zone B U17 Girls Cup with a 3-2 victory over Benin on Saturday, completing a double after their 4-1 win in the opening game.

Benin's Yenido Gandonou scored first, but Ghana quickly responded with goals from Getrude Amoafoh and Priscilla Mensah to take a 2-1 lead by halftime.

Gandonou netted her second goal in the second half to equalize for Benin, but Amoafoh's 84th-minute goal secured the win for Ghana.

This victory confirmed Ghana's place in the semifinals, where they will aim to build on their strong performances in the tournament.
