The President of the Sudanese Football Association, Dr. Moatasem Jaafar, emphasized the importance of coach Kwesi Appiah ahead of the 2026 World Cup qualifiers.
Sudan will face Senegal on March 18 and South Sudan on March 24 in Group B. Appiah has not yet joined the team, sparking rumors he may have boycotted over unpaid dues.
However, with the arrival of his assistants, Ignatius Osei Fosu and Eric Amponsah, it’s expected that Appiah will join the team soon.
Jaafar expressed the urgent need for Appiah’s leadership and assured the association would resolve any issues to meet his demands. Sudan currently leads Group B with 10 points after four matches.
