We aren’t going to do well at the top if the Ghana League isn’t doing well- Tony Aubynn

Medeama SC Board Chairman Dr. Tony Aubynn

Dr. Tony Aubynn is the Board Chairman of Medeama Sporting Club. He believes Ghana's football success depends on the Ghana Premier League. He shared his views in an interview on Channel One TV’s Point of View. The discussion also touched on illegal mining, known as Galamsey.

His comments come amid criticism of the Ghana League. Many have condemned its quality, poor attendance, and organization. Most blame these issues on GFA President Kurt Okraku.

However, Dr. Aubynn thinks the league's viability is crucial for success. He stated, “If the league is not doing well, we won’t do well at the top.” He added that it’s unfair to blame just one or two people for the problems.

Dr. Aubynn emphasized that many people invest in football. He believes more investment is needed to improve the sport.

Medeama SC won the Ghana League in the 2022-2023 season. They recently moved to TNA Stadium in Tarkwa. Currently, they rank fifth in the 2024-2025 season and will face Vision FC on May 4.
