Asante Kotoko striker Kwame Opoku has made a bold promise. He insists the club will not end the 2024/25 season without a trophy. Winning is a key goal for the Porcupine Warriors.
Opoku spoke after Kotoko's impressive 4-1 win over Dreams FC. The 24-year-old scored two goals and provided an assist. This victory brought Kotoko within three points of league leaders Nations FC with three matches left.
Currently, Kotoko sits fourth with 54 points. They are firmly in the title race. Opoku’s return has been crucial, scoring 10 goals since December 2024.
After the match, Opoku shared his thoughts with the media. “We can’t go trophyless this season,” he stated firmly. “By season's end, we’ll lift a trophy—either the league or FA Cup.”
Kotoko has also reached the MTN FA Cup final. They will face lower-tier side Golden Kick on June 15 at the University of Ghana Stadium. A win would give them their 10th FA Cup title and boost their quest for domestic dominance.
With strong form and motivation, Opoku and Kotoko aim to finish the season well. They want to deliver a trophy to their dedicated fans in Kumasi.
