We have a very good chance of making it to the World Cup – Jordan Ayew

Black Stars captain Jordan Ayew is hopeful about Ghana's World Cup chances. He believes the team must stay focused to qualify for the 2026 FIFA World Cup.

Ghana leads Group I with 15 points. They earned these points from tough wins over Chad and Madagascar in March. Ayew reflected on their performance, saying, “We have a very good chance of making it to the World Cup.”

He noted that the team fought hard for their position at the top. However, he stressed that qualification is not guaranteed yet.

“It is not over,” he said. “We have four more matches to play.” The upcoming games are against Chad and Mali in September. He acknowledged that these matches will be challenging.

Ayew also thanked fans for their strong support during the last international window. “It’s good they came here in numbers to support us,” he said.

The Black Stars will continue their World Cup qualifying campaign in September. They aim to maintain their lead and secure a spot at football’s biggest event.
