We know you will lead with Passion and Pride- Athletic Bilbao after naming Inaki Williams as Captain

Inaki Williams of Athletic Club has been named captain. He will lead the team for the 2025-2026 season. This announcement follows Oscar De Marcos’ departure from Bilbao.

Williams recently won the La Liga African Player of the Year Award. This is his second consecutive win. He hopes to help Bilbao in the upcoming UEFA Champions League after finishing fourth in La Liga.

Last season, Williams scored six goals and provided eight assists. He played 35 league matches for Athletic Club, his only professional team.

Athletic Bilbao announced the captaincy change on Twitter. They congratulated Williams, saying, “At your orders… Captain Kwaku! We know you will lead our Lions with passion and pride.”

Since joining in the 2014-2015 season, Williams has made a significant impact. He has scored 111 goals and provided 66 assists in 471 games across all competitions.
