Kurt Okraku, President of the Ghana Football Association (GFA), is calling for justice. He wants action taken for the murder of Kotoko fan Nana Pooley. Pooley was stabbed during a league match against Nsoatreman earlier this year.
In an interview on Metro TV, Okraku emphasized the need to keep pressure on the investigation. “We must keep the chase and pace to bring Pooley's killer to justice,” he said. He reaffirmed the GFA’s commitment to support law enforcement.
The tragic incident caused widespread outrage and led to a temporary suspension of the Ghana Premier League. It also raised serious concerns about fan safety and violence in local football.
In response, the GFA is working with security agencies and stakeholders. They are enhancing matchday safety protocols, including increasing police presence at venues. They are also promoting anti-hooliganism campaigns.
Okraku urged clubs, fans, and law enforcement to work together. He wants everyone involved in Ghanaian football to help create a safer environment.
