Sunyani West MP Millicent Yeboah Amankwah has called for a reassessment of security measures at stadiums before the Ghana Premier League resumes.

The league was suspended following the fatal stabbing of Asante Kotoko fan Francis "Nana Pooley" Frimpong during a match at Nana Koromansah II Stadium on February 2.

Another violent incident at a Division One League match between Elmina Sharks and Swedru All Blacks has further raised safety concerns.

Hon. Amankwah urged the Ghana Football Association (GFA) and football authorities to implement strict measures to prevent such tragedies.

She emphasized the need for risk assessments before matches to ensure the safety of players and fans, stressing that stadium conditions must be properly evaluated before games take place.
