Auxerre defender Gideon Mensah has stressed the importance of securing their Ligue 1 status despite a promising start to the season. With 19 points from 13 matches, Mensah insists their main goal remains survival, regardless of their league position.

“Our goal is still the same: to remain in Ligue 1,” he said.

Mensah expressed confidence ahead of Auxerre’s upcoming clash with unbeaten Paris Saint-Germain (PSG), citing motivation from playing against top teams. “I’m very confident against PSG. These matches push us to perform better,” he remarked.
