Former Hearts of Oak striker Prince Tagoe has criticized the club's leadership, urging Executive Board Chairman Togbe Afede XIV to grant the technical team full autonomy and end interference in decision-making.
Tagoe, a former league and CAF Confederation Cup winner, attributed the club's struggles to outdated management practices.
"We're not running football with a mindset from the '60s. Leadership must adapt to modern football," he said, adding that officials involved in player selection and recruitment should step back or be removed.
Despite winning the league in 2021 under coach Samuel Boadu, Hearts of Oak currently sit fourth in the Ghana Premier League with 18 points from 11 games. Supporters have echoed Tagoe's calls for leadership reform to revive the club's fortunes.
