We’ve settled debts to National Football Team Coaches- Kofi Adams

Sports and Recreation Minister Kofi Adams

Minister of Sports and Recreation, Kofi Adams, announced that outstanding payments to national football team coaches have been cleared.

He shared this news during a meeting with the University of Development Studies leadership. This meeting took place at the Sports Ministry before the university's trip to the World University Football Cup in China in September.

Adams explained that debts owed to coaches over four years have been settled. This includes payments to C.K. Akonnor, head coach of the Ghana National Men’s Football Team.

“Things are not as they seem,” he said. “We had significant debts left for us. Just last week, we paid some coaches, including C.K. Akonnor.”

He emphasized that settling these debts assures new hires that they will be treated fairly by the nation. The ministry is now looking into future plans for the team.

C.K. Akonnor served as head coach from 2020 to 2021 after being a former Black Stars captain.
