Over the weekend, Ghanaian players in Europe and beyond had strong performances. They contributed to both personal achievements and team successes.
In the Premier League, Mohammed Kudus assisted West Ham in a 2-2 draw with Bournemouth. Antoine Semenyo played the full match for Bournemouth. Kamaldeen Sulemana also provided an assist for Southampton, despite their 3-1 loss to Tottenham.
In League One, Kelvin Abrefa and Andy Yiadom helped Reading win 1-0 against Wycombe. Jojo Wollacott faced challenges as Crawley United lost 3-1 to Stevenage. Tarique Fosu came off the bench for Northampton’s dominant 4-0 win over Peterborough. Kwame Poku played 46 minutes for Peterborough.
In Spain's La Liga, Inaki Williams played the full match for Athletic Bilbao in a 1-1 draw against Villarreal. In Italy's Serie A, Caleb Ekuban contributed 22 minutes of action for Genoa in their 1-0 win over Udinese.
In France's Ligue 1, Ernest Nuamah had a tough outing for Lyon. He played just 7 minutes before getting injured in their 2-1 victory over Lille. Andre Ayew played 17 minutes for Le Havre in their 2-0 win over Montpellier. Gideon Mensah was on the field for 72 minutes in Auxerre’s win against Rennes.
In Germany’s Bundesliga II, Ransford Yeboah Konigsdorffer played 63 minutes for Hamburger in their 3-0 victory over Nurnberg. Edmund Baidoo scored for New York Red Bulls in their 2-1 win over BW Linz in Austria.
In Belgium, Lawrence Agyekum played 72 minutes for Cercle Brugge in a 2-1 win over Beerschot VA. Mohammed Fuseini contributed 28 minutes for Royale Union SG during their victory against Gent. Denis Odoi completed the full match as Antwerp lost to Club Brugge.
Christopher Bonsu-Baah played the entire match for Genk in their win over Anderlecht. Majeed Ashimeru came on as a substitute and played half of that game. In Greece, Abdul Baba Rahman helped PAOK secure a victory with his full match performance.
In the Netherlands, Ibrahim Osman had an eight-minute appearance for Feyenoord during their win against AZ Alkmaar. Ibrahim Sadiq played longer at AZ Alkmaar with a total of 55 minutes on the pitch.
In Switzerland’s Super League, Lawrence Ati Zigi and Stephan Ambrosius were part of St. Gallen’s victory over Servette. Jonas Adjetey featured briefly as Basel won against Lugano.
In Turkey, Joseph Attamah and Yaw Ackah helped Kayserispor secure a win against Adana Demirspor. Kingsley Schindler played half of Samsunspor's game as they lost to Antalyaspor.
Kwasi Wriedt participated briefly as Sanliurfaspor won against Boluspor while Isaac Donkor was involved in Adanaspor’s defeat to Sakaryaspor. Prince Obeng Ampem played most of Eyupsor's game during their narrow victory.
Alexander Djiku also saw action with Fenerbahce as they won decisively against Trabzonspor.
In MLS action, Joseph Paintsil spent nearly an hour on the field but Los Angeles Galaxy lost to Real Salt Lake. Lalas Abubakar made a brief appearance while Mohammed Sofo contributed significantly to New York Red Bulls' success against Chicago Fire.
Osman Bukari lasted more than an hour during Austin FC's draw with Portland Timbers while Yaw Yeboah was active until late into Los Angeles FC's loss to Houston Dynamo.
Willy Kumado also made his mark by playing part of San Diego FC's convincing victory over Seattle Sounders.
