West Ham has not decided on Michail Antonio's future. Manager Graham Potter noted that the striker is in a "unique" situation.
Antonio, 34, has not played since breaking his leg in a car crash last December. He is out of contract this summer. After surgery in Essex, he spent over three weeks in the hospital.
The Jamaica international has returned to light training since then. Potter said, "When we have something to announce, we will announce it." He added that Antonio is recovering well and receiving support.
In other news, West Ham will release four long-serving players when their contracts end. Lukasz Fabianski, Aaron Cresswell, Vladimir Coufal, and Danny Ings will leave the club after this season.
Cresswell, 35, has been with West Ham for 11 seasons. He holds the record for the longest unbroken stint as a top-flight player with the club. Fabianski (40), Coufal (32), and Ings (32) were part of the squad that won the UEFA Conference League in 2023.
Potter expressed gratitude for working with these players. He called them brilliant professionals with great experience in the Premier League. He emphasized their respect from teammates and everyone at the club.
Potter felt it was important to share this news now to honor their service. This allows supporters to show appreciation during their final home match of the season.
The Hammers will visit Manchester United on Sunday at 14:15 BST. Their last home match is against Nottingham Forest on May 18th.
