Winfried Schäfer to earn $65,000 as monthly salary as Black Stars technical advisor - Reports

German coach Winfried Schäfer has been appointed as the Black Stars' technical advisor and Director of Football, earning a monthly salary of $65,000. His role follows Ghana's failure to qualify for the 2025 AFCON.

Schäfer, who led Cameroon to the 2002 AFCON title, will receive a significant bonus if he helps Otto Addo secure qualification for the 2026 World Cup. Otto Addo’s salary remains at $50,000 per month.

Financial discussions with the government are ongoing ahead of the World Cup qualifiers.

The revamped technical team includes psychologist Kris Perquy, video analyst Gregory De Grauwe, and assistant coach Desmond Ofei.

With AFCON hopes lost, the Black Stars now focus on World Cup qualifiers, with matches against Chad and Madagascar approaching.
