Former Ghana international and coach Yaw Preko has explained why foreign-born players often struggle to adapt to the Black Stars despite excelling in European clubs.
Speaking to 3Sports, Preko highlighted the unique challenges of African football, including cultural differences and a different style of play. He noted that even top players like Mohamed Salah face difficulties adapting to African conditions.
Preko specifically mentioned Antoine Semenyo, emphasizing that Ghana must use him effectively to maximize his impact.
Ghanaians have expressed frustration over the inconsistent performances of players like Inaki Williams, who has scored just once in 17 appearances since switching allegiance in 2022.
Semenyo, with 25 caps and two goals, has also faced challenges replicating his club form with the national team.
