Ghanaian players Caleb Yirenkyi and Stephen Acquah played key roles in FC Nordsjaelland's league win over Randers on Sunday, April 13.
Yirenkyi scored a goal, while Acquah came off the bench to secure the victory. The final score was 5-2 in favor of Nordsjaelland during the Championship round.
Yirenkyi made his eighth start in 11 games. His consistent performances earned him this opportunity.
Acquah, aged 18, made only his second appearance for the club. He was promoted from the Right to Dream academy in Ghana.
Yirenkyi scored Nordsjaelland's fourth goal after Benjamin Nygren's first-half hat-trick. The visitors had initially taken the lead just 17 minutes into the match.
Yirenkyi scored from a rebound after Nygren's shot from outside the box. This made the score 4-1 before he left the field two minutes later.
Randers managed to score again in the 76th minute. However, Nordsjaelland quickly restored their three-goal lead with Acquah’s goal just a minute later, making it 5-2.
This was Acquah’s first goal involvement for Nordsjaelland this season. The team secured all three points at Right to Dream Park.
Both Ghanaians hope to continue their development in upcoming matches.
