Veteran coach Abdul Karim Zito is focused on Asante Kotoko. He aims to lead the team to a league and cup double this season.
Recently, Kotoko defeated Dreams FC 4-1 at Baba Yara Stadium. This victory extended their unbeaten run to four matches under Zito's leadership.
Zito joined Kotoko as a technical director but became head coach. He took over after Dr. Prosper Narteh Ogum left the club.
Despite his sudden appointment, Zito is committed to winning titles. He downplays the importance of his job title.
“I never knew I was coming to Kotoko,” Zito said after the game. “I was called for the technical director job, not coaching.”
He added, “Unfortunately, my own boy left so I had to take over.”
Zito emphasized that he wants peace to work through the season. “I prefer winning a double; that’s what matters now,” he stated.
