Armed men attacked a military training camp in Bamako, Mali, early Tuesday morning, according to state television.
The attackers, described as "terrorists," targeted a gendarmerie school near the city's airport.
Gunfire was heard around 5:30 AM, causing people to turn back from morning prayers.
The situation is now reportedly "under control," with security forces conducting combing operations.
Mali has been battling an Islamist insurgency for over a decade, and despite a military coup in 2021 aimed at addressing the violence, the attacks persist.
The identity of the attackers remains unclear.
