Ghana: 24-Hour Economy Industrial Park for Volta Region Takes Off

Adaklu-Waya — The Volta Regional Minister, Mr. James Gunu, is focused on regional development. He emphasized the need for strategic industrial investment. He urged stakeholders to work with the Volta Regional Coordinating Council (VRCC) for progress.

Mr. Gunu announced that 2,700 acres of land were acquired in Adaklu. This land will be used for an industrial park. The park supports the government's 24-hour economy policy and aims to transform the region.

During his visit to Adaklu-Waya, Mr. Gunu assured residents about job creation. The industrial park will help reduce unemployment among youth in the area. He also mentioned that the government is committed to addressing developmental challenges through practical industrialization.

He praised local chiefs for providing land for the project. Mr. Gunu expressed his commitment to collaborating with traditional authorities for rapid development.

The Adaklu District Chief Executive (DCE), Mr. Jerry Ameko, shared details about the industrial park. It will include cassava and rice processing factories, making farming more attractive and profitable. He encouraged youth to consider farming as a business opportunity.

Mr. Ameko urged young people to seize available opportunities for job creation. He highlighted agriculture as a viable business that can improve their lives. He advised them to avoid social vices and focus on productive activities.

The DCE assured that the Assembly is creating a favorable environment for investors. Local and international investors are encouraged to explore opportunities in agriculture and industry.

Mr. Ameko also called on landowners to register their lands properly. This will help prevent encroachment and related legal issues that hinder growth. He stressed the importance of unity and accepting diverse views for maintaining peace in the community.
