Pastor E. A. Adeboye, the General Overseer of the Redeemed Christian Church of God, has apologized for his earlier remark that Christians who do not pay tithes may not reach heaven.
During a youth convention at Redemption City, he acknowledged this statement as a mistake and clarified that the Bible emphasizes living a peaceful and holy life as the true prerequisite for entering heaven.
Adeboye explained that while paying tithes is important, it's wrong to limit contributions to 10%.
He shared a story of a successful businessman who pledged 90% of his income to God, encouraging greater generosity among believers.
