Former Nsoatreman FC General Manager Eric Alagidede has expressed surprise over the heightened tensions in the recent match between Nsoatreman and Asante Kotoko.
He emphasized that there is no historical rivalry between the clubs, citing Kotoko’s previous invitation to Nsoatreman for the J.A. Kufuor Cup as proof of their cordial relationship.
Alagidede explained that matchday logistics, such as arrival times, could have contributed to the situation but should not have escalated into violence. His comments follow the tragic death of Kotoko supporter Francis Frimpong, known as Pooley, who was fatally stabbed after the match.
In response, the Ghana Football Association (GFA) has suspended Nana Konamansah Park and charged Nsoatreman FC over the incident as investigations continue.
