Liberia: LFA Signs Two-Year Partnership With National High School Sports

Monrovia — The Liberia Football Association (LFA) signed a two-year partnership with National High School Sports (NHSS) on Thursday. This agreement aims to develop grassroots football and address age-cheating in youth competitions.

The partnership will integrate primary school leagues into Liberia's football framework. NHSS will organize a nationwide primary school league with support from the LFA.

At the signing ceremony, NHSS Executive Director Dionysius Sebwe expressed commitment to advancing youth football in Liberia. He said, "We are delighted to collaborate with the LFA for youth development."

Sebwe believes this partnership will significantly impact future players in LFA-sanctioned leagues. He highlighted that it would help reduce age-cheating, which has caused disqualifications from tournaments.

"This collaboration will restore credibility in our youth teams' selection process," he stated. It will also provide tools to track players' ages effectively.

Sebwe, a former deputy minister at the Ministry of Youth and Sports, thanked LFA President Mustapha Raji and Executive Committee member Ivan Brown for their support.

LFA Deputy Secretary-General Muhammed Sheriff signed the agreement on behalf of the association. He noted that this initiative aligns with the LFA's broader youth development agenda.

Sheriff called this agreement a significant step toward enhancing football at all levels. He reiterated President Raji's commitment to working with all football stakeholders, especially former national players, for long-term growth of the sport in Liberia.
