Liberia appoints Ghana’s Rev Kennedy Okosun as consultant for 2025 Accra forum

Liberia has appointed Rev. Kennedy Okosun as a consultant for its first Investment Conference. This event will take place in Accra on May 15 and 16, 2025. Rev. Okosun is a Ghanaian businessman and governance advocate.

The conference is organized by the Liberian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and its Embassy in Ghana. It aims to gather West African investors, policymakers, and entrepreneurs. The goal is to foster regional partnerships and enhance economic synergies. Liberia seeks to position itself as an attractive investment destination.

In a pre-event interview with ModernGhana News, Rev. Okosun shared his vision for the conference. He emphasized that his role extends beyond just the event's success. He aims to create long-term outcomes that benefit the region.

“This conference will deepen investment partnerships across West Africa,” he said. “Though Liberia hosts it, benefits will extend to countries like Ghana.”

This marks the first time the Liberia Investment Conference is held outside Monrovia. It shows Liberia's strategy to attract more regional and international investors through Ghana’s respected platform.

Rev. Okosun described Ghana as an ideal host: “Ghana is the star of Africa.” He added, “In one simple sentence, Ghana is the place to be.”

The conference will attract key players from various sectors including agriculture, energy, and telecommunications.

Rev. Okosun also announced two new bilateral associations: the Ghana-Liberia Business Chamber and the Ghana-Liberia Friendship Association. These initiatives aim to strengthen economic and cultural ties between both countries.

“These initiatives will ensure our relationship continues after May 16,” he stated. His role includes ensuring success before, during, and after the conference.

To maintain momentum, he hinted at a follow-up conference later in 2025. There will also be a recognition ceremony in 2026 for entrepreneurs emerging from this initiative.

Rev. Okosun believes these efforts will positively impact the region’s business landscape.

“If you are interested in trade or investment in Liberia, don’t miss this opportunity,” he urged potential attendees.

After this conference, Rev. Okosun plans another event on June 25, 2025—The Diplomatic Round Table and Trade Networking in Accra.

This event focuses on “Trade Without Barriers.” It is organized by KRIF Media, KRIF Foundation, and Mediadotkom.

The forum aims to strengthen diplomatic ties between embassies and Ghanaian businesses under John Dramani Mahama’s government agenda for a 24-hour economy.

Representatives from various organizations including the United Nations are expected to attend this diplomatic forum.
