Morocco has set a new tourism record, welcoming 15.9 million tourists in the first 11 months of 2024, surpassing the total number of visitors for the entire previous year.
This 20% increase compared to last year highlights the country’s growing tourism sector, which accounts for 7% of its GDP.
The tourism ministry credited the success to strategic efforts, such as opening new air routes, promoting underexplored destinations, and encouraging hotel renovations.
From January to October, tourism revenue rose 9.3%, reaching 97 billion dirhams ($9.72 billion).
Morocco aims for 17.5 million visitors by 2026 and 26 million by 2030, coinciding with its role as a co-host for the 2030 World Cup.
