In Maiduguri, northeastern Nigeria, devastating floods collapsed walls at a prison last week, leading to the escape of 281 inmates.
The floods, which also damaged the Medium Security Custodial Centre and staff quarters, resulted from a dam overflow and heavy rains.
While seven escapees have been recaptured, efforts are ongoing to find the rest.
The flooding, described as the worst in decades, has killed at least 30 people and displaced over a million, with hundreds of thousands in temporary camps.
The floods also impacted a state-owned zoo, releasing crocodiles and snakes into communities.
