Nigeria: Eid Kabir - Let's Come Together to Build Nigeria, Pray for Military - Tinubu

President Bola Tinubu urged Nigerians to unite for a better nation. He spoke to journalists after the Eid Kabir prayers at Dodan Barracks in Lagos.

He called on citizens to be kind and supportive of each other. "We must sacrifice and pray for those who are vulnerable," he said. He emphasized the importance of love, regardless of differences.

Tinubu expressed gratitude for the sacrifices made by Nigeria's troops. "We must pray hard for our troops keeping us safe," he added. He encouraged respect for their efforts against terrorism.

During the Eid Kabir message, Grand Chief Imam Suleiman Abou-Nolla spoke about national growth. He urged Nigerians to set aside greed and selfishness. Unity and peace should come before individual interests, he stressed.

"If we want a better Nigeria, we must change our habits," he said. The Imam called on leaders to reduce excessive spending and citizens to improve themselves.

He highlighted the need for unity among all Nigerians, regardless of background. "We share the same fears, concerns, and dreams," he noted.

The cleric also condemned indiscipline, hate speech, violence, tribalism, banditry, and terrorism. He prayed for President Tinubu and other leaders' strength and guidance.

Abou-Nolla prayed for peace in Nigeria: "May Allah grant us harmony." Dignitaries present included former Minister Babatunde Fashola and Minister Gboyega Oyetola. Other attendees were members of the Lagos Council of Traditional White Cap Chiefs and state officials.
