Nigeria: Kwara Governor Swears in New Aides, Officials

On Tuesday, a ceremony took place at the Government House in Ilorin.

Kwara State Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq swore in new aides and officials.

He appointed two special advisers, a new Auditor-General, and seven permanent secretaries.

The new special advisers are Abdulrazaq Jiddah (Special Duties) and Umulkhaer Alaye (Civic Engagement).

Fatai Alayande is the new Auditor-General. The permanent secretaries include:

- Afolabi Olaitan (Energy)
- Olufunke Shittu (Service Welfare)
- Risikat Abdulazeez (Housing and Urban Development)
- Ayodeji Taoheed (Health)
- Abu Gana (Works)
- Salau Abdullahi (Transportation)
- Yahya Muhammed (Livestock Development)

Governor AbdulRazaq urged the appointees to serve with integrity and diligence.

He said their appointments are opportunities for further service to the state.

"You must strive to improve things for God and humanity," he stated.

He reminded them they were chosen from over three million people.

"They look up to you as leaders and mentors," he added.

The governor emphasized fairness, humility, and high ethical standards in their roles.

Mamman Jubril, the Secretary to the State Government, also spoke at the event.

He encouraged the appointees to be diligent and committed in their duties.

Jiddah thanked Governor AbdulRazaq on behalf of all appointees.

He promised not to betray the trust placed in them.

The ceremony was attended by notable figures like Abdulganiyu Cook-Olododo and Abubakar Jos.
